

John Stephen Balawender, age 68, of Longs, South Carolina passed away unexpectedly following years of unwavering dedication and service to others. Born on November 20, 1954 he was the son of Lillian Balawender and the late Walter Balawender.
John was the definition of a family man. He was loving, kind and caring. No matter the situation, he was always there for his family and friends. John was always willing to give the shirt of off his back to anyone in need. He was well known for his work ethic and always staying busy. John will forever be remembered as a loving husband, brother, friend and being the best dad ever. As he would say, “always keep one eye opened” and “goodnight”.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Charlene Balawender; mother, Lillian Balawender; children, Eric John Balawender (Heather), Dana Marie Balawender Hylton (Jared); grandchildren, Alexia Marie Balawender, Julie Eileen Hylton, Alex Joseph Hylton; step-grandchildren, Aryanna Rose Tolle, Keira Sky Martin; siblings, Rosemary Keene (Rodger), Walter Balawender (Patty), Christine Hutton, Lillian Martz, Antoinette Lippian (Joe); along with his beloved Louie.
