Loving father of Hilary Flaherty and her late husband Thomas Flaherty, Jonathan Fahy and his wife Jennifer, and the late Marie "Mimi" McCarthy.

Loving Grandfather of Paige Fahy, Mackenzy Jakaus, Maeve McCarthy, Liam Flaherty and Raegan Fahy. Loving Great Grandfather to John "Jax" Fahy and Ada Fahy.

Survived by his brother Joseph Fahy of Weymouth and sister Patricia Fahy of Weymouth, formerly of South Boston.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, 615 E. 4th Street, South Boston, MA 02127.

John was a retiree of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). John loved to walk his dog Gus and take him to the beach. He was always working on something in his garage, or golfing with his friends. He was a lifelong basketball fan and loved the Boston Celtics
