John Singleton Jr.

John W. Singleton, Jr., age 68, of Calabash, North Carolina passed away peacefully at his residence on June 2, 2023. Born on December 10, 1954, in Conway, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John W. Singleton, Sr. and Rose Nell Singleton.

A devout Christian, John was a member of Valorous Church in North Myrtle Beach, and briefly taught Technology at Valorous Academy after retiring. He also enjoyed serving on the Production team for several years. John especially loved attending his church’s Life Group. He valued the wonderful friendships he made and considered his Life Group family. Previously, John served many years on the Technology/Production team at Covenant Church in Raleigh, North Carolina and with his beloved wife in ministry to children.

A United States Air Force veteran, John served his country proudly from 1973-1977. He retired from Lenovo in August of 2022. John was a family man who had a work ethic like no other. He passionately loved his family and cherished his wife, two daughters and granddaughters. John was fondly known as “Dadoo” to his girls. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, vacationing, visiting friends and cheering on the Carolina Panthers.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 43 years, Tammy Chadwick Singleton; daughters, Jessica Singleton, Jordan Singleton; granddaughters, Adriana McGhee, Aubrey McGhee; brother, Timothy Singleton; sister, Martha Howell; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Michael, David, and Stephen Singleton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 8 at Valorous Church, 701 Main Street, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church foyer.
