Judith A. “Judy” Criss lost her six-week long battle with COVID and pneumonia on 27 March.
We moved to Ocean Ridge Plantation 5 years ago from Northern Virginia. As a nurse, she spent a lifetime helping others, on and off the job, around the world to wherever the Air Force sent the family. She loved being near the water, making new friends and helping the local model railroad club.
She is survived by our daughter, Missy, and her husband, Jeff, and their two children, Riley and Madeline, in Pittsburgh, PA; our son, Billy and his wife, Erin, and their two daughters, Michaela and Hailey, of Springfield, Virginia; her brother Craig in Virginia Beach, and me, her loving husband, Bill Criss.
She set out to be the best mother & grandmother ever, and succeeded beyond measure — as ‘Granma Judy’ to many, many close to her.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held this summer.

Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
