Judith Lynne Gasper, 78, of Little River, passed away at home on Monday, February 8, 2021. Judith was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Everett L. and Pauline V. (Freeland) Wolfe. She was the wife of the late Anthony Nicholas Gasper.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Judy was a 1960 graduate of Western High School. For many years, she worked as Executive Secretary for Hamburgers Clothiers, a prominent retailer in downtown Baltimore. She married Tony in 1974 and settled in Catonsville, Maryland. Judy was a true Baltimorean who loved her Baltimore festivals, theater, crabs, and O’s! She was a regular at Memorial Stadium and never turned down an opportunity to pick some Maryland crabs! She also enjoyed trips to New York City where she celebrated her 60th birthday.
People were attracted to her outgoing and friendly personality, and she made many valuable friendships through the years. She would often host get-togethers where family would look forward to Tony’s meatballs and competitive games of penny poker!
After many vacations to Myrtle Beach, Judy and Tony decided to move south and make Little River, South Carolina their home. This was the perfect location for Judy, a beach lover, and Tony, a golf lover. She loved living in Little River and looked forward to having visitors to share all the things her new hometown had to offer. You were always a welcome guest in the Gasper household. Judy would often spend the afternoon on the beach with a good book, one of her favorite pastimes.
In Myrtle Beach, she continued her career as an administrative assistant for St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she enjoyed more than 16 years of dedicated service. She was an active member of the Little River United Methodist church. Her kindness touched many in the community and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who know her.
Surviving are her sister, Sandra Trieschman; stepson, Anthony J. Gasper; stepdaughter, Victoria Stewart (Rick); and two step grandchildren, Mark Stewart and Gina Stewart. She is also survived by her nephews Michael McMahon (Susan) and Douglas McMahon (Cynthia); nieces Jill Chambers (Steven) and Alane Bakalyar (George); and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Judith was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores McMahon.
A memorial service with entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Columbarium of Little River United Methodist Church. Covid-19 Protocols will be followed.
