Judith “Judi” A. Reed, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Born in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ulysses S. Alexander and Jean Walser Alexander. She was the devoted and loving wife of 53 years to Edward “Larry” Lawrence Reed.
Although she had an early career in banking, her favorite job was as activities director at the Peppertree Resort in North Myrtle Beach. She was a caregiver at heart tirelessly caring for her mother, her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law. Having had no children of their own, Judi and Larry were the host parents for two German exchange students, Valentina and Alina Gerber, and were blessed to call them their “German daughters”.
Always having a love of Hawaii, Judi and Larry decided to leave the New York life for the luau life in September of 1988, where they spent the next five years. She and Larry made their last relocation to North Carolina in September 1993. Judi was member of Our Lady Star of the Sea where she was very active with the Ladies Guild having served as Past President. She also derived great pleasure in preparing the First Communion classes for many years.
