

Lillian Boone, 92, died peacefully at the Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach on September 1, 2020.
Lillian was born in Irvine, Kentucky, to John C. Lockett and Lucy Ann Kirby Lockett, the oldest of thirteen children. She also had two stepbrothers and two stepsisters. She and her husband, Ados Boone, lived in Celina, Tennessee, where they owned and operated a grocery store. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Jamestown, Tennessee, where she lived happily for sixteen years before spending her final years in North Myrtle Beach.
Lillian is survived by two daughters, Judy Bailey-Jones of Rockwood, Tennessee; and Donna Dowell of North Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren, Shea Bailey of Austin, Texas; Michele Dowell Saffelle of Cary, North Carolina; and Robert Dowell of Knoxville, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, Carson Bailey, Alex Saffelle, Kate Saffelle, Andrew Saffelle, and Michael Dowell; one great-great grandchild, young Willow Bailey of Cookeville, Tennessee. Lillian leaves three surviving siblings, Darrell Lockett of Weatherford, Texas; George Lockett of Pensacola, Florida; and Frank Lockett of Irvine, Kentucky, and numerous adoring nieces and nephews.
Lillian will be remembered for her many years of hard work and for the kindness, humility, and love she showed to family and friends. She was always at home in the kitchen where she could use her talents in caring for others.
The family would like to express appreciation to the skillful and compassionate staff of Crescent Hospice and Embrace Hospice House. In view of the viral pandemic, there will be only a private service before Lillian is interred in the columbarium of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in North Myrtle Beach.
