Michael Ray Morris, age 58, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Born on February 9, 1964 in Amarillo, Texas he was the first-born son of Raymond Morris, Jr. and Judy Lilly.
Survivors include his parents along with his loving and devoted wife of 11 years, Jenny Morris; children, Amanda “Mandie” Boyd (Justin), Hanna Koliha (Rob); brother, Jeff Morris, Sr.; grandchildren, Lily Boyd, Joshua Boyd, Kate Boyd, Ethan Boyd, Nathanial Koliha; step-mother, Debbie Morris; numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Maggie. He was preceded in death by both grandfathers, Wade Hellard and Raymond J. Morris, Sr.; along with his step-father, Larry Lilly.
A family man with a heart of gold, Michael cherished each moment spent with his dearest family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Whether he was cooking or grilling, Michael enjoyed hosting and entertaining. He simply loved people. Michael had a work ethic like no other. He was a certified welder, welding inspector and a quality control manager. Michael worked for Envirosep Inc. in Georgetown, South Carolina. A United States Army Veteran, Michael served his country in the early 1990’s. In his freetime, he loved fishing, riding motorcycles and flying his drones. A man of Christian faith, Michael was the team visitation leader for Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina in his earlier years.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at First Baptist North Myrtle Beach. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at the same location.
Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or the church for the family.
