Raymond Dewitt, lovingly known as “Pops” by those closest to him, passed peacefully in his sleep on May 4th, 2026. Ray was of large stature, but a gentle soul. He had a peaceful and calming demeanor which was comforting to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ray had a warm welcoming nature, which is so uncommon anymore in this world. He was a loving and supportive Father, Grandfather, and friend. He was the type of man who found joy and happiness just knowing his loved ones were doing well.
Ray is survived by his three sons, Ralph Wright, Richard Wright, and Robert Wright; his grandchildren, Tabitha Triplett, James Wright, and Richard Wright Jr.; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Smith and McKenzie Smith. Along with many other “children” whom lovingly referred to him as “Pops”.
May we find peace and comfort to know he is now free from the burdens of this world. And remind ourselves that to live on in hearts we leave behind is not to die, and although the song has ended, the melody will linger on.
This obituary was lovingly written by the family of Mr. Raymond Wright.
