Thomas Gerald Faulkner

Thomas Gerald Faulkner, age 83, of Longs, South Carolina passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Born in South Hill, Virginia on January 5, 1939 he was the son of the late Oscar and Eva Crutchfield Faulkner.

A member of Buck Creek Baptist Church, Gerald cherished his church, his family, his friends and his dogs. Gerald was a veteran of the United States Army where he served his country proudly. He was known as the self-appointed mayor of the Long Bay community. One of his favorite neighborhood activities was his happy hour golf cart ride at 5pm. Gerald enjoyed telling jokes, the beach, fishing, and his weekly breakfast with the boys. He will forever be remembered for his charming smile, sense of humor, success and giving the best hugs.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Harriet Faulkner; children, Tammy Mayfield (Larry), Tina L. Soltero, Thomas Monroe Faulkner (Helen); grandchildren, Cameron Mayfield, Ashlynn Mayfield, Kathryn Faulkner; sister, Dorothy Johnson; along with nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs Spencer and Ginny. He was preceded in death by his parents along with his sister, Rosa Lee Owens.
