Walter Peele

Born February 8th, 1941 in Rockingham, NC, he was the son of the late Benjamin Peele and Nellie Briley Peele.

Mr. Peele is survived by his wife (his PERSON) of 53 years, Vickie Dianne Peele of Little River, SC, his son Jabe Peele (Michelle Peele) of Longs, SC, his sister Georgia Mccorkle (Glen Mccorkle) and brother Charles Peele, both of Salisbury, NC. He is predeceased by his son Jamie Peele of Salisbury, NC and three brothers and three sisters.

“Papa” is his legacy. After serving in the Navy and protecting his country, he worked in textile manufacturing to support his family. After retirement, and sleeping on bombs on his warship, Papa went on to help raise his grandbabies while their parents went back to work. That’s why PAPA is his legacy. Papa was a humble man and never boasted of his 3 Bronze Stars or other accomplishments, but one thing he was never modest about was his grandchildren. His love was unconditional and full of joy. He will always be this family’s Papa. This is what loving Jesus is all about.

A celebration of life will be held at Beacon Baptist Church on Saturday, October 19th at 11am.
