William S. Watson

Born in Conway, SC, he was the son of the late Sam and Hancie Richardson Watson. Bill graduated for Loris High School and attended Clemson University. He served in the US Navy.

Active in his community, he worked as a real estate broker and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Bill served as past member of Pee Dee Regional S.H.A.; past board member for Little River Water Company; past member of Horry County Crime stoppers; past board member of Horry County Development Board; past board member of Horry County 2010 Committee; past chairman of First Atlantic Bank. Bill also served as past president of Little River Improvement Association, past chairman of Little River Medical Center Board and was a charter member and past president of Little River Lions Club. He was recognized as Lion of the Year and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award by the Lions Clubs International Foundation for dedicated humanitarian services.

Bill attended Little River United Methodist church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. He served as chairman of Finance and Administrative Board and was a past member of the LRUM Trustee and Building Committee.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Stoffel (Cary); grandchildren Mark Stoffel (Kimberly); Megan Stokes (Brandon); Samantha Watson; great grandchildren Riley Dorman; Rosie Stokes, Lyla Stoffel, Ely Doyle, Watson Stokes, Grayson Brown. His wife Patricia Allen Watson; son William S. Watson, Jr; his brother Walker Watson; a sister Carolyn Anderson; and grandson Heath Watson, all predeceased Bill.

Funeral service is scheduled at 11:00am on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Little River United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin 1 hour before the service. Burial immediately following at Southern Palms, 5000 US-17, North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Watson’s name to Little River United Methodist Church or Horry County Children’s Home.
