Eleanor Morrissey, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Livingston, NJ. Born in Orange, NJ, Eleanor was a longtime resident of West Orange where she and her husband James raised their family. Later in life, they moved to Florham Park, and eventually settled in Roseland. Eleanor was a member of the Essex County Country Club, where she was a past Ladies’ Nine Hole Champion. She was also an avid bowler, lover of music and theater, a Seton Hall Pirates fan, a Yankees fan and a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Roseland.
Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband, James and her daughter, Kathleen. She is survived by her loving children, Maureen Leslie (Michael), Peter (Maria), Thomas (Laurette), and James, as well as
her three cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren, and Sean. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Haight, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Henry and Joe Kalenowski, as well as the loving family dog, Bonnie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9 from 4-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, June 10, at 10AM at Our Lady of the
Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor’s name may be made the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
