

Elmer Lucas, age 101, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. A 65 year resident of West Orange, Elmer was born in Scranton, PA. He worked for K.K.I. Pryo Film Corporation for 17 years as a model maker and plant manager. He retired in 1987. Previously he worked for General Instrument Corporation for 15 years as a tool and die maker, and earlier at Arrow Machine Company for 10 years.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for 4.5 years, 3.5 years in the South Pacific as Master Sergeant. He was presented the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with four stars, the Philippine Liberation Medal with a bronze star, the Presidential Unit Citation, American Defense Medal, Honorable Discharge Button, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 2856, Livingston, NJ.
Elmer was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen, in 2015, as well as his brothers and sisters. He leaves behind loving nieces and nephews and their families.
A memorial mass for Elmer and Helen will be held on Wednesday, August 2 at 10am at St. Raphael's Church, 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Inurnment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
