Inocencio “Nick” Bahia, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines. In the 60’s, he was a professor of Zoology at Far Eastern University, Manila Philippines. He arrived in the US in 1969, and spent his career in research science, earlier at UMDNJ-Newark, subsequently retiring from Bristol Myers Squibb in 1994. Nick's greatest joy in life was traveling and spending time with his family.
Nick was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Milagros, and his grandson Christopher. He is survived by his loving children Aurora Arayata (Rolando), Theresa Jovellanos (Peter), Alberto Bahia (Grace), Corazon Bahia (Domingo Aviado), Annabelle Tulud (Gil), Percy Bahia (Celeste), Vilma Arcilla (Ryan), Antoniette Griffin (Matthew), Melissa Linteau (Timothy). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Laura, Ryan (Melissa), Michael (Kate), Nick, Gracielle, Dominick (Olive), Kimberly (Chris), Randy, Gilleanne (Mike), Crystal (Derrick), Samantha, Alex, Sean, Shane, John, Beth, Lia, Valerie, and Thomas. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter, Ava.
Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, July 8 from 2-6 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, July 9 at 10AM at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston. Inurnment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
