

Jean Herrmann Trygg, 85, of Hartwell, GA, formerly of Short Hills, NJ passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 14 after a long battle with ALS. She was born in Newark, NJ on April 27, 1931 to Ludwig and Ingeborg Nelson Herrmann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Irving A.Trygg.
She graduated from Douglass College (Rutgers) where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She was a math teacher, and was a member and active volunteer at Trinity Covenant Church in Livingston. She is survived by her children, Karen Wold & husband James, and Kenneth Trygg & wife Dawn, and her grandchildren Christy, Karl & Susie Wold, and Brielle & Tyler Trygg.
A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Covenant Church, Livingston, NJ on Saturday Jan. 21 at 10am. Family will receive friends at 9am at the church & burial will be at Restland Memorial Park in Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Trinity Covenant Church, 343 E. Cedar St., Livingston, NJ 07039 or the ALS Association N.C. Chapter, 4 N Blount St, #200, Raleigh, NC 27601
