John F. Schaedel (75), of Springfield NJ, lived a life that was rich and full. He grew up the oldest child of eight children with a loving, sometimes boisterous family in Livingston, New Jersey, and was educated at St. Philomena's School, Delbarton School, Scranton University, and received his MBA from New York University.
He went on to a successful career as Vice President and Chief Auditing Officer at Tiffany & Co. for over 30 years. His distinguished career was notable not only for his significant achievements, but also for his tremendous integrity.
John is survived by a large and devoted family. His high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years Patricia (Dengel) Schaedel, his two loving daughters, Jennifer Leigh and Laura Elizabeth, son-in-law Kai Olson-Sawyer, and his three adoring and exuberant granddaughters – Sadie, Dalilah, and Finley who referred to
him as “Papa”. John’s granddaughters were truly his greatest joy. They’d like it to be known that their papa was hard working, silly, made them laugh, liked to sing, and was always kind.
He is also survived by his seven siblings, Joan Schaedel, Tom Schaedel (Denise), Geoff Schaedel, Gene Schaedel (Nancy), Garry Schaedel (Patty), James Schaedel (Steve) and Philip Schaedel (Barbara), as well as countless nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grandnephews, who he loved beyond measure.
John also leaves behind wonderful friends, many of whom have become family, a testament to the good man he was. Among them are Henry and Karen Luce, to whom our gratitude knows no bounds, Larry and Cathy Gramling, his beloved Aardvarks (long story), the Demoreuilles, the Petersons, the Magees, and so many others. You all meant the world to him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Church 45 South Springfield Avenue Springfield, NJ, on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
