

Lawrence R. Traver, 92, passed away at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly, on Thursday, July 17, 2014. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Tuesday, July 22, 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Everyone is invited to the Presbyterian Church of Livingston, 271 W. Northfield Rd., for the funeral service celebrating his life will be offered Wednesday, July 23, at 11 AM. The interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Livingston First Aid Squad, 65 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, NJ 07039.
Born in Far Rockaway, NY, Lawrence had lived in Livingston since 1951 moving to in Eastampton in 2008. He served honorably in the US Army during World War II. He retired as the Township of Livingston Tax Collector and Treasurer in 1988 after 25 years of service. He was a member and former presidenct of the Essex Hudson Chapter of the Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association. In his community he was a First Aid Squad volunteer, and a Livingston Little League coach. At the Presbyterian Church of Livingston he served as Deacon and a member of its Session as well as Chairman of its affiliated Cub Scout Pack.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Sonia, he is survived by his devoted sons, Richard P. and his wife Diane, Mark W., and Ronald L. and his wife Sara; Lawrence is also survived by his loving grandchildren Ian R., Jane E and Emma C. Traver.
