Mary Petersen Briggs

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, at 10 AM at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 South Livingston Ave., Livingston, followed by the interment at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 9, from 4PM to 8PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave.

Born in Montclair, Mary moved to Livingston in 1950. She retired from Bell Laboratories in 1984 as an executive secretary and had previously been a secretary for the Livingston Board of Education and legal secretary for Roy A. Collins, Esq.

Predeceased by her husband Edwin M. Briggs (1986), her son-in-law Robert P. Goeckel (1983) , and her nine older siblings, she is survived by her daughter, Susan B. Goeckel; her grandsons, Robert E. Goeckel and his wife Susan J. and John P. Goeckel and his wife Chian L.; and her great grandchildren, Robert B. and Charlotte M. Goeckel.
