

Patrick A. Deo, 82 passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Blake Hospital, Bradenton, FL. His family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ on Monday February 4th, 4-8 PM. Everyone is invited directly to St. Mary’s By the Sea Church, 804 Bay Ave., Point Pleasant Beach on Tuesday February 5th at 10:00 AM and the entombment service at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
Born in Newark, Patrick lived in West Orange, Point Pleasant, Manchester and Sun City Center, FL for the past twelve years. After graduating from Irvington High School and Seton Hall University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences, he entered the Army serving during the Korean War and receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He first worked as a math teacher for two years. Then began his career with Grand Union Supermarket in 1958 and retiring as its President and CEO in 1991. Patrick Deo was a well- recognized leader in the food retail industry, accomplishing many achievements and honors during his career. Patrick enjoyed a 30 year retirement: he was an avid Golfer, Boating enthusiast in which he earned his captains license, volunteered annually for Sr. Citizens preparing Tax Returns & truly treasured family vacations especially in Disney World with his Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wonderful wife June who he greatly missed. Surviving are his devoted daughters Terri Cowan, husband John and their children Nicole and Johnny and Nancy Colavito and husband Vincent and their children Michael and Alyssa.
