Born in Lawrence, KS, to Virginia and Joseph Gleitsmann.
Russell served his country proudly in the US Navy, on the Intrepid, during the Vietnam War.
Devoted husband of Dorothy Gleitsmann; loving father of Candice Gleitsmann and her significant other James Hultzman; brother of Robert and Richard Gleitsmann; uncle of Drew, Nicholas, and Jacob Gleitsmann; and brother-in-law of Jeanne Carbone and her late husband Richard.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ, on Thursday, December 19, from 3 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home on Friday, December 20, at 12:00 pm, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum or the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter.
