

Ruth Sullivan, 87, of Livingston, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Sunday, 2-6 PM. The Mass of Resurection will be celebrated at St. Pilomena’s Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston (07039)on Monday at 10 AM followed by the committal service at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Philomena’s Sharing Office (above address).
She was born and raised in Jersey City and was employed by the Trust Company Bank of New Jersey where she was to meet her late husband, Eugene James Sullivan and they moved to Livingston 50 years ago. Her faith guided her to become a member of the St. Philomena Rosary Altar Society and was a Eucharistic Minister serving the sick and infirmed at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the homebound. Above all, though, she was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene James and sister Joan, she is survived by her devoted children: Eugene J., Jr. and wife Patricia, Joseph B. and wife Margaret and Veronica Mary Hotz and husband Bradford; Ruth is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Eugene Jeremiah and wife Jacqueline, Jennifer Christie, Joseph, Jr., Thomas Michael, Brian, Michael, Daniel, Bradford, Jr., Colleen Elizabeth and Bridget Mary. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Evelyn Goodall, Doris Barry and Josephine Cevetello.
