Vince was born on November 6, 1947, in East Orange, NJ, to parents, Jerry and Rose (Marafino) Palumbo. He graduated from West Orange High School in 1965. He continued his education, graduating from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Vince went on to establish a career as a restaurant supply executive working for Intedge Industries in Roseland, NJ as Vice President of Operations and later owning his own business Globex Trading, Inc. In addition, Mr. Palumbo proudly served in the National Guard for seven years. He was the highest ranking member of Livingston Unico and served as both President and District Governor. Vince valued community service and volunteerism and was also an active member of the Seton Hall Prep Fathers Club and a former Executive Board member at Marion Manor in Caldwell, NJ.
Vince was fortunate to have many lifelong friends from childhood, college and the National Guard that he kept close throughout his life. Vince loved spending time with his wife and family and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a fixture at all of their games and track meets and got to know their coaches, teammates and parents. However, out of all of the accomplishments in his life he was most proud of being a Grandpa and was affectionately known as “Papa” by his beloved grandchildren TJ and Ally. He was the Papa everyone would love to have. Vince was always sharply dressed. He enjoyed cars, racquetball, chocolate and a nice glass of white wine . He was a loyal friend, caring, fun, kind and supportive. He was “one of a kind” and enjoyed life. He was a rock to all those who knew him, loyal and reliable always there to lend a hand. Vince will be missed by all who loved him.
Vince was preceded in death by his mother Rose Palumbo; father Jerry Palumbo and brother Dominick Palumbo
Vince is survived by his loving wife Sandra, daughter Lynn Sparno, son-in-law Thomas Sparno, and cherished grandchildren Thomas “TJ” Sparno and Alexandra “Ally” Sparno.
