

Allan Glen Kennedy, 88, of Longmont, died April 2, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born April 18, 1926 in Girard, Kansas to Samuel Gilbert and Jane (Hennessy) Kennedy. In 1944 Allan was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the Philippines and Korea during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1946.
On November 29, 1946 Allan married Irene Ankerholz in Bushton, KS. They moved to Colorado in 1959 where he became employed by Gehl Brothers Manufacturing Company. He was the sales representative for the state of Colorado and portions of Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico, retiring in 1989. Throughout the years, even though he was busy with work and raising a family, Allan always took the time to help on the Ankerholz family farm in Kansas. Memories of Allan will forever be those of a kind, friendly and hardworking man who loved his family dearly.
Surviving are his daughters Denise (Joe) Winslow of Mead, CO and Kathy (Robert) Turner of Avondale, AZ; his sister Florence (Willis) Revel of Longmont, eight grandchildren: Nathan (Shanna) Jessen, Colin (Jessica) Jessen, Tyrone (Jamie) Turner, Robert (Sondra) Turner, Tamara Moore, Beronica Turner, Jennifer Leblanc (Julian Kiss) and Lori (Peter) Arendsen. He is further survived by 12 great grandchildren, his brother in law Edward Ankerholz and his sisters in law Joyce Cheuvront and Marian Ankerholz. Preceding Allan in death are his parents, his wife Irene, his brothers Chester and James, his sisters Gladys, Irma, Martha, Floriene and Hilda and his son in law Stephen Jessen.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 9, also at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
