Amy Colleen Armstrong, 46, of Longmont died April 23, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 2, 1966 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Jerry Lee Armstrong and Patricia Lynn (Ioerger) Armstrong.
Amy was a 1985 graduate of Olde Columbine High School. She worked for the Boulder County LEAP Program and spent her free time camping, traveling, listening to classic rock, singing Karaoke, enjoying every minute she could with her Grandson Nolan, and loving her daughter Michelle. She was hoping to win her battle with cancer so that she could live to see Nolan grown. Amy was part of a very large family that loves her and will miss her very much.
She is survived by her mother Patricia Armstrong of Mankato, MN, her daughter Michelle Armstrong of Longmont, her brother Glenn (Mary) Armstrong of Madelia, MN, her Grandmother Rosella Ioerger of Longmont, and Nolan Armstrong, the grandson she adored. Numerous special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will celebrate her huge heart and the love she showed for everyone she met, further survive her.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013 in the Community Room of Howe Mortuary. Funeral services will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Pastor David Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amy Armstrong Fund at any First Bank Longmont location in care of Barbara McCarrick, and/or Debra Richardson. A reception will be held following the interment in the Event Center at Howe Mortuary.
