

Anne Elizabeth Dion, 89, of Arvada, CO passed away November 11, 2013. Anne was born on January 27, 1924 in Maskell, NE to the Reverend Oscar Conrad and Emma (Halvorson) Harang. Anne attended Waldorf Junior College, graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a nursing degree and later earned a Master's Degree from California State University-Los Angeles. On December 18, 1948, Anne married William Dion in Belview, MN. After Bill's ordination as a Lutheran Pastor, Anne served alongside at many Lutheran congregations in the cities of Savage, MN, Muskego, WI, Minneapolis, MN, Tucson, AZ, Wheat Ridge, CO and Claremont, CA. After Reverend Bill retired, they moved to Denver, CO and later to Longmont, CO where Bill served as Visitation Pastor at First Lutheran. After Bill really retired, they moved to Broomfield and finally Arvada. Anne worked as a nurse in Minneapolis and Tucson. She then taught health and sex education in Wheat Ridge and Claremont. While in Wheat Ridge she also served as a Parish Nurse. Anne was a member of the many Lutheran churches where she and Bill ministered, followed by First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont and currently at Atonement Lutheran in Boulder. She also belonged to the PEO Chapter GH, Lutheran Church Women, the Sons of Norway, the Retired Teachers Association and the Retired Nurses Association. Anne was an artist, and especially enjoyed painting in watercolors. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the St. Olaf Choir while in college and in many church choirs. Anne is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Anne is survived by her husband Bill, six children, Matthew (Patti) Dion, Kristin (Steve) Boyd, Andre (Kim) Dion, Corinne (Erik) Gosswiller, N lle (William) Gordon and Gabrielle (Peter) Dion-Kindem, grandchildren Sara, Abbi (Josh), and Emilie (Bryon); Sam, Max and Mickey; Nate (Tegan), Benjamin (Jamie) and Eric (Britt); Lauren (Travis), Austin and Emma; Wyatt and Cooper; Jacob, Lars, Anneliese and Soren, great-grandchildren Sam and Linnea Anne, sister Ruth Flom and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 801 3rd Ave., Longmont, CO.
