Barbara Jean Pflipsen

Barbara Jean (Colbruno) Pflipsen, 79, of Longmont, died February 20, 2017 at Balfour Assisted Living Center in Louisville, CO. Barbara was born July 6, 1937 in Lafayette, Colorado the daughter of Felicia (Mongone) and Pete Colbruno. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School. On May 20, 1955 Barbara married Blaine Pflipsen in Lafayette, CO.

Barbara was a proud and devoted homemaker. Her life centered around her family, her children’s sports activities and their 4-H projects. She adored her grandchildren and was proud of her Italian heritage. Barbara was a life-long dog lover and showered all her pets with love. She will be remembered for her strength and her ability to smile through even the worst of times. She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she participated with Stephen’s Ministry and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include her children: Denise Schuck (Brett) of Mead, CO; Diane Reimers (Larry) of Redwing, CO; Steve Pflipsen (Becky) of Dacono, CO and Greg Pflipsen of Mead, CO. She is further survived by her sisters Evelyn Turnbull of New York and Josephine “Jo Jean” Colbruno of E. Palo Alto, CA; and her grandchildren: Anthony (Sara), Kristen (Tim) and their daughter Josephine, Brianna (Trevor), Nicholas (Emily) and Sarah (Beau). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Barbara in death are her parents, her husband, her grandson Braden Pflipsen and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 26 followed by Rosary Prayers at 7:00 pm, both at the Howe Mortuary, Longmont. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am on Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
