

Billy Fred Bomar went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the age of 67. Billy was born February 24, 1947 in Vernon, Texas, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bomar. A native Texan, Billy moved to California in 1972, shortly after his discharge from the U. S. Air Force, where he served 5 ½ years, including service in Vietnam. He was employed as a sales representative for Frozen Food Express in their West Coast office until the time of his disability in 1987. He loved horseback riding and after his disability, he benefitted through therapeutic riding with CTRC. He was a big fan of country music and especially loved when Vic Anderson sat with him and sang the old cowboy songs.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mack and his wife Robin. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ashlee and Aaron Thomas and their three daughters Taylor, Adriana and Elayna of Discovery Bay, California. He leaves in his Estes Park home his sister Bobbie Brown and her husband Mike, his nephew Robert Kittler and his 3 children Logan, Emma, and Seneca and his niece Jennifer Salyers and her husband Bruce and son Bryan and his sister-in-law Debbie Tucker of Longmont.
The family would like to thank the loving staff and caregivers from Estes Park Home Health Care, Hospice of the Estes Valley, Dr. Van der Werf and the many EMTs who assisted Billy. In addition, they want to thank the caregivers over the last 27 years, including Theresa, Edee, Tina, Lyza, Ruby and Jennifer. Bobbie and Mike also thank their Rocky Mountain Church family for their love and support
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday September 11, 2014 at Rocky Mountain Church, 451 Promontory Dr, Estes Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc.
