Bishop Robert Gene Bennett

Robert G. Bennett, known as Pastor Bob, passed away June 16, 2016 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. He was 80 years old.He was born December 31, 1935 in Longmont, CO to Orey L. Bennett, Sr. and Rose Boulard Bennett.On October 2, 1993 he married Marie Broyles in Longmont.Bob's early life and career was as a showman and entertainer. He spent many years as a singer and comedian playing many stages in many states, including on the strip in Las Vegas.In 1980 his life took a turn in a new direction as he gave his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. From that time on he was dedicated to be a minister to Christ's gospel. He and his dear wife Pastor Marie were founders and Pastors for The Lord's Church in Longmont. He and Marie would preach and sing, providing a wonderful atmosphere for worship. He was proud to be an example of a life turned around by Christ. He led many to a personal relationship with Jesus and faith in God. Pastor Bob enjoyed singing and praising God.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Orey Bennett, Jr. and Ricky Bennett.Pastor Bob is survived by his wife Pastor Marie Bennett, one son Michael Coulon and fiancée Kaylin Aguirre and three grandchildren Hayle Coulon, Kyla Howard and Liberty Howard.Memorial services will be held 10:30am Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment will follow the memorial service at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennett Education Fund for his grandchildren.
