Brady Watson Kane

Brady Watson Kane, of Erie, died May 7, 2011 in Ft. Morgan from injuries sustained in a skydiving accident. He was 27 years old.Brady was born on August 17, 1983 in Denver, the son of Bradley L. and Lisa L. (Taylor) Kane. Brady grew up in Thornton and graduated from Horizon High School. He was currently pursuing a business degree program and just finished his first semester with a 4.0 GPA.Brady's passion was the sky, including aviation, meteorology and the clouds. He had spent his career as a skydiver. Known as a Senior Rigger, Brady taught, guided, and coached at many levels including accelerated freefall. Brady was also a representative for Vertical Suits, Daedalus Project and Icarus Canopies. He was a member of the Denver Broncos Thunderstorm Skydiving Team and was one of the skydivers at the String Cheese Incident concert at Red Rocks.Brady enjoyed hiking, biking, traveling and his cats. He was artistic and enjoyed painting. Brady was known for his sense of humor and for making people laugh. Above all, Brady will be remembered as intelligent, an excellent teacher, and as a leader.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl Peterson and Cherie Taylor.Brady is survived by his parents, Brad and Lisa Kane of Thornton, Colorado; his brother, Jonathan Kane of Thornton, Colorado; the love of his life, Melissa Yager of Erie, Colorado; his grandparents, Joyce Peterson of Fennimore, Wisconsin and Theodore L. Taylor of Thornton, Colorado and his aunts and uncles, Curtis Kane (Judi) and their children Sadie and Richard of Hood River, Oregon, Mark Taylor of Geneva, Wisconsin and his son Seth, Pam Thomas of Johnstown, Colorado and her children Tyler, Alex and Foster and Lynne Schmidlkofer of Thornton, Colorado and her sons Logan and Dylan.A celebration of Brady's life will be held at 3PM on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street in Boulder. Doors will open at 2PM. A reception will follow at Vance Brand Municipal Airport Hangar Unit C. Cremation is under the care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
