

Carl Joseph “HOAGY” Baumgartner, Jr. of Longmont, died July 15, 2017 at TRU Community Care Hospice in Boulder, CO. He was born May 15, 1949 in Altoona, PA the son of Jean (Kozain) and Carl Joseph Baumgartner. Carl was a 1967 graduate of Altoona Area High School and proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam era where he trained as a Radio Communications Operator. He married Deborah Hughes in Altoona on April 24, 1971. They moved to Colorado in 1974.
Hoagy worked for ValleyLab and in his free time he enjoyed hiking and bowling as well as cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his wife Deborah and their furry family of cats that include Oscar, Jack, Jill, Hope and Emily. Further surviving are his brother Fred (Anita) Baumgartner and his sister Donna (Tim) Hite of Altoona, PA and his brother in law Craig Everhart of Port Carbon, PA. He was preceded in death by his sister Janet and his parents.
At his request, there will be no services held.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
