

Carl Rohde, 64, died at home on 05/21/2015 in Longmont, Colorado after complications from cancer. Carl was born in Salem, Massachusetts to Margaret Elizabeth Brown Rohde and Erwin Carl Rohde. He grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts and was an avid sailor and skier. He attended Marblehead High School and then went to Tufts University from 1968 – 1972, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He then moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado from 1974-1977, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Architecture.
Carl lived in Colorado for 41 years. He married Kathy Walrath Rohde in 1986. He had a deep love of Colorado and especially enjoyed skiing and fly fishing with many friends. Carl’s lifetime love has always been architecture, designing custom homes for families in Colorado and beyond. He took joy in helping people realize their dream homes. Carl is survived by his sisters, Katherine Sullivan and Kirsten Rohde, and his long-time companion Kathy Rohde. We remember Carl as a gifted architect, lover of the out of doors, and good friend to many. We express our thanks to all the people who visited and offered support during his illness. Carl lived life to the fullest, expressing his humor, creativity, and enjoyment with friends and family throughout his life.
