Born on July 22, 1936 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Anthony Joseph Frett, Jr. and Virginia Catherine (Schmitz) Frett. In 1960 she married Allan Patrick Robertson in Wheaton, IL., and in 1971 they moved their family to Longmont, Colorado.
A devoted mother of seven children, loving grandmother to 17 and proud great-grandmother to 15, she was a matriarch who taught her children to always remain close and love and support one another.
In her early years raising a family, she experienced joy camping in the Rocky Mountains and packing her family into a van to travel throughout the United States on various road trips. She was a master at navigating a vacation with a map and curating detailed itineraries for European excursions.
Carol attended DePaul University and throughout her life, she worked as a real estate agent, tax preparer and receptionist/bookkeeper. After her retirement, she volunteered and eventually assumed a part-time position at her parish, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she met some of her dearest friends.
Faith was of utmost importance in Carol's life and she was able to volunteer with "Vatican Treasures," attended the closing World Youth Day mass at Cherry Creek State Park, visited Rome and the Vatican, and was a parishioner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for over 50 years.
While Carol was a pillar of strength and compassion, she also had a mischievous side and was always up for a laugh and a family gathering. While ensuring that her family was well fed and comfortable, she also extended her home and dinner table to anyone in need of a warm meal, a kind word, or a place to belong.
A beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carol is survived by six of her children Virginia Robertson, James Robertson (Debbie), Margaret Belknap, Karen McGrath (Tom), Mary Robertson and Susan Burton; 17 grandchildren Jaryd Krisher (Emma), Shannon Pardue, Zachary Belknap, Jonathon Robertson, Katherine Robertson-Mazur, Andrew Laatt, Jasmine Robertson, Jordan Robertson (Shea), Jessica Deleplancque (Zachery), Victoria Robertson, Jennifer Robertson, Julia Robertson, Logan Williams, Thomas Fritschen Jr., Joseph Fritschen, Jillian Robertson, Brooke Burton; 15 great grandchildren, sister Joan Krueger and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Allan (1989), son Michael (1985) and nephew Robert Krueger (2008).
Visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary, Longmont, CO on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 4-7pm with a Rosary at 6pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont, CO. She will be laid to rest at Mt. View Cemetery, Longmont, CO.
