Mrs. Carolyn J. Pope, 78, died Tuesday, December 5th at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, CO. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glenn Pope, her sister Peg Ricker and husband Stan, her son Daryll Pope and wife Cindy, her daughter Linda (Pope) Garoutte and husband Kim, three nephews, one niece, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren plus extended family and many close friends.
Carolyn was born on December 20th in 1938 in Longmont, the daughter of Ed and Marie Hanson. She had a passion for music and family. Glenn and Carolyn made annual treks to folk music festivals all across the USA. They loved performing with other musicians at the festivals and enjoyed jamming with friends at local coffee shops in Longmont. Carolyn sang and played an autoharp while Glenn played the hammered dulcimer.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 3:30pm on Monday, December 11th at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street in Longmont. Favorite memories will be shared during the reception to follow.
