Chad Robert Smith

Chad Robert Smith of Longmont died at his residence on January 15, 2009. He was 35.Chad was born on May 9, 1973 in Longmont to Robert Allen and Cynthia L. (Ferrill) Smith. He attended school in Longmont and graduated from Niwot High School. Chad worked for ten years as a clerk for the United States Postal Service and then began a career in residential construction. Chad married Gitu Shrestha in Kathmandu, Nepal in February 2007.Chad enjoyed playing golf, snow boarding, and going camping in the mountains. He was also an animal lover. Chad was a kind and caring person and gave selflessly to others. His nephews and niece were very special to him and he loved them as his own. Chad will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceding his death were his grandfathers, Howard Smith and John Miller. Chad is survived by his parents of Longmont; his sister Kerrie Harden and her husband Randy of Longmont; two nephews: Sawyer and Luke Harden and his niece Kaitlin Harden. Also surviving are his grandparents: Arlene Miller of Fort Collins and Norine and Tom Fowler of Johnstown along with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.Memorial may be given to the Longmont Humane Society, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, CO 80501.
