

Charles, known as Chuck, was born on September 1, 1937 in Denver, Colorado to Earnest and Nora (Avis) Gooden. He grew up in Denver and then served in the United States Navy as a Paratrooper. Chuck married Donna Bigham in San Diego, California on February 6, 1956.
Chuck owned his own business, CG Acoustics and has been an acoustical applicator most of his working career. He also worked for the St. Vrain School District and was a caretaker at Beaver Lake for the American Legion. Chuck was a member of Carpenter Local #55. When he was younger, Chuck had his own riding stables. He enjoyed horses and animals, cutting hay and was known as “Cowboy Chuck”. He also enjoyed gambling at Black Hawk, going to dog races and watching golf.
Mr. Gooden was preceded in death by his parents, a son Charles, Jr., by two brothers: Donald and Doyle; and by two sisters: Carol Apple and Faye Batterman.
Chuck is survived by his wife Donna; two sons: Troy and Casey (Jennifer) and three daughters: Victoria Rutherford, Tami Sterkel, and Kelli Berger, all of Colorado. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at¬ 1:00 p.m. at Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette, CO. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services of Longmont.
