Charles J. Holmes

Charles Chuck J. Holmes passed away September 12, 2013 at his home in Johnstown, CO. He was 80 years old.Chuck was born on July 26, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years in the Seabee's and was stationed in the Philippines. On June 7, 1952 he married Catherine Russo in Chicago, IL. Together they moved to Longmont in 1976.Chuck was a member of the Elks club for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids and dog Rocky; and riding his bike.Chuck is survived by his wife Catherine; daughters Tina Holmes, Tammy (Michael) Vulk, Tracy (Doug) Bailey, and Terry (Lawrence) Mathews; his grandchildren Matthew Longstreth, Tyler Colglazier, Cooper and Audrey Vulk, Calvin and Maggie Bailey, and Zayda and Z y Mathews; his great-grandchildren Peyton Barnes and Pierce Longstreth; and his dog Rocky.A viewing for Chuck will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM Monday September 16, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. Cremation will follow the viewing and no additional services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Longmont Humane Society.
