Christopher Joseph Chris"" Welsh

Chris was born on May 8, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph Welsh and Margaret E. Mayer. He moved to Colorado when he was 9 years old. Ge grew up in the Boulder area. He married Jewel Stotts in Longmont and they had one daughter Tracy. They later divorced. Chris then married the love of his life, Theodora “Teddy” Archuleta. She preceded him in death on July 27, 1995.

He owned and operated Welsh Floor Covering for many years until his knees prevented him from continuing and he passed the business on to his brother Michael. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Platteville and loved helping with the Sunday music. He always joked how funny it was that someone almost deaf was in charge of the music sound system. His resilience and sense of humor will be truly missed.

In addition to his wife Teddy, Chris is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tracy and his nephew, Matt Schekel. He is survived by his sister, Marcia (Kurt) Schekel of Vancouver, WA, his brother Michael (Cathy) Welsh of Mead, CO; grandchildren Desiree (Nick) Jones of Greeley, CO, Dakota Welsh and Kylie Welsh of Longmont, CO; two great grandsons, Xavier and Skylar Welsh and his step-son Matt (Robin) Brunk, along with one nephew Zachary (Tiffany) Schekel and their three sons, Nolan, Archie and Sawyer.

Memorial services will be held for Chris at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the United Methodist Church of Platteville, with Pastor Mark Heiss officiating. Please join the family to celebrate Chris’ life.
