

He was born in Hereford, Texas to John Ignatz Lueb and Mary Louise Lueb. They moved the family from Texas, to Flagler, Colorado and finally made their home in Boulder, Colorado.
He did not want to be drafted so he enlisted into the Navy in 1951 at the age of twenty. He served during the Korean War as a Navy diver. His title was Boatswain’s Mate Third Class, USN-1. At that time, they wore dive suits that had big helmets with the air hoses attached to the ship. His nickname was Slim. Once the war ended in 1954, he got an Honorable Discharge.
He met and married Shirley Evelyn Pease on November 13, 1954. They made their home in Boulder and spent time in Arizona for a short time. They had five children, Douglas John, Scott Allen (died a month after birth), Derek Joseph, Cathi Louise and Anthony Lee (passed at birth).
CJ worked as a mechanic his whole life. He worked at various places and owned his own shop at one time.
Once he retired, he got involved with the American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles. It was there that he met Elaine Meyers, who was part of his life for many years until her untimely death. He was the post Commander and Treasurer at the American Legion in Boulder for a number of years.
He enjoyed hanging out at the Eagles with his brother, Rich, watching football or whatever games was on. He had lots of stories to tell. He could go almost anywhere and would more than likely find someone he knew.
He got to go on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC with other veterans and had the best time. He did some traveling with his brother Rich when Rich was launching weather balloons.
CJ is survived by sons Douglas (Mary), Derek (Diane), and daughter Cathi, Jennifer Casey granddaughter, Aiden Casey great grandson, Amanda Lueb granddaughter, Temperance Garcia great granddaughter, brother Richard (Pat), nephew Mike Lueb, niece Amy Lueb, niece Tracie Green-Saathoff and her son Drew Bruggeman-Green, and nephew Andy Green.
Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
