

David’s mother died when he was young, and his father remarried. David had one brother, Robert, and two half-sisters, Joy and Mary. David lived much of his young life with his maternal grandparents. He joined the Air Force and served some of his enlistment in Alaska. During his dental school training, David served in the Navy Reserves.
While attending the University of Louisville in Kentucky, David met Phyllis Reed, and they were united in marriage in Louisville on April 8, 1966. David and Phyllis had one child, Mark Pryor. David attended dental school in Louisville as well as the San Francisco School of Medicine. He practiced for a while in Fresno, California before moving to Colorado where he practiced general dentistry, as well as oral and maxillofacial surgery in Broomfield and
Westminster. He also applied his surgical skills on missionary trips to the Philippines.
David enjoyed hunting, working on his farm in Niwot where he grew hay and at one time raised ostriches. David and Phyllis enjoyed travelling to Europe and he enjoyed hiking in the mountains. David stayed physically active until his passing. He was a member of Tri-City Baptist church upon his passing.
David is survived by his wife Phyllis, his son Mark, three grandsons, Tyler, Brendan, and Sean. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother.
A funeral service for David will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area C, 4400 W. Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80236.
