David Whitton Shallcross Jr.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 14, 1949, to David Sr. and Veronica Shallcross with his 3 siblings.

David was proud to serve his country with 7 and half years of Airforce service; where he used his experience and knowledge towards his career. He gained more education by completing a 4-year bachelor’s degree. With his learned experiences and education, he entered the workforce as an Air Traffic controller and Quality Assurance Engineer.

David married the love of his life Dorothy Ann Shallcross on August 25, 1973, together they made a commitment to each other and God. In a loving home, Nicholas Jerred Shallcross was born. The whole family moved to Longmont, Colorado in March of 1978. The family quickly adapted to the welcoming community. Friends and family described him as friendly, and he always had a good word for everyone.

During his spare time, he enjoyed the company of his family during church at St. Francis of Assisi in Longmont, Colorado. When he wasn’t at church he enjoyed spending time at the American Legion, wood carving, golf and fishing.

He is preceded in passing by his parents David W. Sr. and Veronica Jane Shallcross.

He is survived by the love of his life Dorothy Ann Shallcross; his wonderful son Nicholas Jerred Shallcross; his siblings Barbara Schaff, Thomas (Anita) Shallcross, Veronica (Dames) Wing.

In lieu of flowers David’s family has asked that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association and the ASPCA.
