Devon Gilbert

Devon Leon Gilbert was born to Sandra Lynn Mesker and Dennis Leon Gilbert on October 12th, 1992 in Ph nix, Arizona. Devon left our world on November 17th, 2013 as a result of a tragic car accident. Devon was 21 years young and will forever be remembered for his charismatic personality and smile that would light up any room. Devon moved to Longmont, Colorado from Chandler, Arizona in 2008, shortly after the passing of his beloved mother, to start a new life with his Colorado family. Devon lived with his Aunt and Uncle (Sherry and Scott McGonigal) in Colorado and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 2011. He then obtained a position with the St. Vrain Valley School District as a custodian. Devon had plans of one day being a millionaire, and to those that knew him, knew that he had the potential to do just that. Everyone that met Devon was immediately drawn to him because of his kind heart, warm smile and witty sense of humor. Devon loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating, tubing and hanging out with family and friends. He was a skilled skeet shooter who won competitions. He was a valued baseball player at Silver Creek High School and dedicated employee of the school district. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother (Sandra Mesker/Schell/Repola) in 2007, Step-Dad (Anthony Repola) 2009 and Grandfather (James Mesker) in 2011. Devon leaves behind several friends and family members in both Arizona and Colorado. His little brother Brandon Repola admired Devon with all his heart, his big brother Seth Schell and his dad Shannon Schell who meant the world to Devon, Grandmother Patricia Mesker and step-grandparents Patsy and Paul Mikelonis, his Aunt SharonSherry and Uncle Scott McGonigal, Aunt Susie Wadle and cousins Jason, Gerri, Taylor, Sierra (Neil), Samantha , Ryan (Lea), Diana and Kevin. Honorable mentions: Donna Dalton and family, KC Lord and family, Luis, Stephan, Greg, Ryan and literally hundreds more. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 23rd at the Calvary Church, 2101 Gay St., Longmont, CO.
