
Eldon Al George Scriven, 87, of Longmont, CO passed away July 27, 2015. Al was born on October 5, 1927 in Pontiac, IL to Harry and Zula (Crow) Scriven. Al served in the United States Army during the occupation of Germany in WWII. After being honorably discharged, Al went on to earn his doctorate at Cornell University in NY. On August 22, 1953, he married Georgia Louise Hammons in Urbana, IL. Al taught at Northern Illinois University in the secondary education department helping students become teachers. He and Georgia moved to Longmont, CO in 2000 from Guffey, CO. He loved spending time with his family.Al was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Sarah Stauber. Al is survived by his wife Georgia, daughters Mary Williams (Duane VanAbbema) and Emelin Miller (Michael), son-in-law Robert Stauber, grandchildren Marie Feser (Bill), Zachary VanAbbema (Veronica), Simon VanAbbema (Samantha), Evan Miller, Michael Miller, Emmie Miller, Samantha Stauber and Kate Stauber and great-grandchildren Stuart and Sylvia Feser, Madilyn VanAbbema and Foster and McKinnley VanAbbema.A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
