Elmer F. Hergenreder

Elmer F. Hergenreder, 83, of Longmont, CO passed away November 20, 2014 at LifeCare Center of Longmont. Elmer was born on September 17, 1931 in Longmont to Jacob and Anna (Hergenreter) Hergenreder.Elmer served in the U.S. Army. He married Betty Becker on November 20, 1955 in Greeley, CO. Elmer was born, raised and farmed the family farm in the Longmont area his entire life.Elmer was a member of Christ Congregational Church.Elmer enjoyed farming and feeding cattle, dancing on the weekends and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, brothers Jake, Henry, Reuben, Harry, Adam, Andrew, John and Ben and sisters Esther, Flora, Helen and Katy.Elmer is survived by his sons Jerry Hergenreder (Tricia) and Jim Hergenreder (Cindy), both of Longmont, grandchildren Justin, Jerilyn, Jordan and Joshua, and brother Ed Hergenreder along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Monday, November 24, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, November 25, at Christ Congregational Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Congregational Church in c/o Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
