

Emilee-Rose Niya Atkins, of Longmont, died August 15, 2016. She was 18. Emilee was born February 21, 1998 in China and was welcomed as the daughter of Frankie Janelle Atkins on October 10, 1998. She was baptized at Foothills Baptist Church as a child and was currently a member of New Creation Church in Longmont.
Emilee would have been a senior in high school. She had shared her talent as an accomplished musician by playing clarinet with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoyed photography, reading, writing and will be remembered as an avid animal lover. She especially adored her dog Sassy.
Surviving are her mother Frankie Atkins and her sister JiJi Atkins of Longmont, her grandmother Rosalie Atkins of Hygiene, her aunt Shauna Atkins (Pam) of Longmont and her uncle Shannon Atkins (Paula) of Brighton and Robin Arellano-Valles (Rick) of Pinewood Springs, CO. She is further survived by her cousins Kasey, Loyd, Emily, Elaina and numerous other family members.
Preceding her in death are her great grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Atkins, Charles and Ruth Ford, her grandfather Charles Atkins, her uncle Casey Atkins and her cousin, Joshua Arellano-Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2016 and again from 9:00 am-12:00pm on Saturday at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 at New Creation Church, Longmont with Pastor Mario Latini officiating.
