FERNANDEZ, Felipe de Jesus, 56, de Longmont, falleció en su casa el Viernes 18 de Abril, 2008. Visitación sera el Martes 22 de Abril, 2008 de las 9:00 a.m a las 8:00 p.m. con el Rosario a las 6:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Howe, Longmont. La Misa y el funeral sera el Miércoles, 23 de Abril, en la Iglesia San Juan Bautista con el Reverendo Servando Navarro oficiando la misa. El sepelio seguirá en el Cementerio Longmont Mountain View. Felipe de Jesus Fernandez, 56, of Longmont, Colorado, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.Felipe was born February 5, 1952 in FCO. I. Madero, Durango, Mexico to Arcadio Fernandez and Andrea Medrano. At age 18, he immigrated to the United States, settling in Colorado in 1978. On February 28, 1981, Felipe married Sofia Vazquez in Mexico.He worked for 28 years as a machine operator for Graphic Packaging International, Inc. in Golden.Mr. Fernandez was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He enjoyed horses, watching boxing on television, and spending time with his family.He was a wonderful husband and father to his wife, Sofia Fernandez; two daughters, Linda and Diana Fernandez, all of Longmont; and a son, Rodrigo Fernandez of Wheat Ridge. He is further survived by three brothers, Alejandro and Lucas Fernandez of Longmont, and Jose Luis Fernandez of Marble Falls, Texas; a sister, Marcelina Fernandez of Durango, Mexico; three grandchildren, Jazmin, Martin Felipe, and Nayeli; and numerous extended family members.He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Javier Fernandez.Visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary, Longmont, on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Reverend Servando Navarro as Celebrant.
