

Flossie Pearl Trotter, 100, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Beatrice Hover Assisted Living. She was born January 15, 1915, in Burneyville, Oklahoma, to Charles and Mary Frances(Hudson) Godfrey. She graduated high school in 1934 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, and attended design school for six months. She married Angelo D. Trotter on August 19, 1934, in Roosevelt.They left Oklahoma and moved to California for five years. They moved to Colorado in 1943, where they lived in Ft. Lupton, Johnstown, and eventually moved to Longmont in 1949.Flossie was a mother, housewife and professional seamstress. She owned her own design and custom sewing shop in Longmont from 1952 until she retired in 1988. Her sewing accomplishments included an evening dress that was worn at Queen Elizabeth's coronation, outfits for Miss Colorado pageant and Longmont High School Trojanettes drill team uniforms.She had many hobbies. She loved gardening, oil painting, reading, and collecting and refinishing antiques. She and Angelo helped found the Longmont Church of Christ, now located on Collyer St., where she remained an active member. She was also a member of the Fibromyalgia Support Group in Longmont and the Prestige Club. She was proud of her Indian heritage and held a standing invitation to the Cherokee Nation's Annual Tribal Council.She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband Angelo, daughters Mary Ann Davis and Donna Trotter, and daughter-in-law Esther Trotter. She is survived by son DavidTrotter, son-in-law Daryl Davis, grandchildren Dee Ann (husband Jeff) Johnson, Jim (wife Hilary) Trotter, Brian Davis, Jodi Jenkins and John Trotter, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.Contributions may be made to her favorite charity, the Mountain States Children's Home.Viewing and visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, with services to follow at 1:00 p.m., all at Church of Christ 1351 Collyer St. Longmont, CO.
