Georgia Elberta Windnagel BensonGeorgia Benson, 93, died peacefully at Arvada Care Center on Saturday, February 27, 2010, surrounded by her family.Georgia was born in 1916 near Berthoud, CO to Charles and Ida Windnagel. She grew up in the Longmont-Berthoud area and graduated from Berthoud High School. She and Carl E Benson were married on August 15, 1937 and together they raised three children. The family lived in Rock Springs, WY, Boulder, Broomfield and Longmont CO. Georgia enjoyed bowling, gardening, fly fishing, traveling and being with family.Survivors include her children: her daughter Joan (Toby); grandchildren Heidi (Kelly) and Jodi; great grandchildren Milia and Connor; her son KC and his stepdaughter Sarah (Mark); and her daughter Debbe (Dan) and their children McKenzie (Chuck), Parker and Larkin, Zach (Rachael) and Isabella, and Josh.Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, and a source of inspiration and strength to her family.A gathering of remembrance will be celebrated on Saturday, March 6th from 10am to 12noon at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman, Longmont, CO.Memorial contributions may be made to Colorado Community Hospice Care, 3501 W 23rd Ave, Denver, CO 80211
