Gerald "Jerry" Dean Meyer

Gerald Dean (Jerry) Meyer, born to Herman Meyer and Martha Stangohr Meyer, on August 28, 1931 in La Salle, Colorado. He grew up on the family farm four miles south of La Salle. He attended First Baptist Church in La Salle all through childhood. Jerry accepted Jesus as Savior when about 10 years old and throughout youth experienced a desire to know God and be used of the Lord. He attended grades 1-9 at Big Bend School about three miles from his farm home and grades 10-12 at College High School (now University High) on the campus of what is now the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Was active in 4H during growing up years.

Jerry learned to love the out of doors and the mighty creation all around us. Attended Rockmont College in Denver and graduated with a BA in Bible in 1953. He traveled for the school for two summers singing bass part with male quartet. He was always involved with music both in High School, Rockmont College and in churches attended. Jerry married Barbara in 1955. He graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a ThM in 1957. He served as pastor to community and Evangelical Free Churches in Montana and Colorado.

The family moved to Longmont in 1965 where their two sons, Mark and David grew up. Mark passed away in 1980. Jerry began with the Post Service in 1973 and retired in 1995. He has been active in Calvary Church since 1968.
