

Glen Elmer Lang passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home in Longmont. He was 86 years old.He was born March 24, 1928 in Shelbyville, West Virginia to Gilbert and Dorothy (Ramsey) Lang.Glen served in the United States Army 1950 to 1953, including a tour of duty in Korea. He was honorably discharged.Returning home he married Roberta Schwartz on December 26, 1954 in Canton, Ohio.Glen was an overhead crane operator for Timken Roller Bearing Company in Canton. He began with the company prior to his military service, and they held his job until his return. He retired in 1990 after 42 years if dedicated service.In retirement Glen and Roberta gave of themselves as volunteers through Equip International. They spent many years in Marion, North Carolina where Glen was an instructor in animal husbandry. They moved to Longmont in 2012 from Marion.Always active in faith and church Glen was a member of Faith Community Church in Canton, Providence United Methodist Church in Marion, and Rocky Mountain Bible Baptist Church in Longmont. He was also a member of the American Legion.A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, Glen loved providing for his family.He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.Glen is survived by his wife Roberta, children Deborah Bailey (Lloyd), Evelyn Collins (Steve), Elaine Mitchell, Richard Lang and Rob Lang (Vanessa); fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers Hartsel and Ernie Lang and one sister Shirley Jeffries.A memorial service will be held 7:00pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Rocky Mountain Bible Baptist Church, 1450 Martin St. Longmont.
